I’m Julia Larkins, an illustrator attending the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, that grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. My illustrations have always been guided by fantasy, featuring fairies, unicorns, mermaids, and other fairytale elements. I draw inspiration from the natural world and enjoy giving it a fantastical spin, creating universes full of giant mushrooms and miniature towns. I primarily use traditional media to give my work a handrawn feel and mimic the surprises found in nature. My story inspiration comes from fairytales and I aspire to create elaborate magical stories for others to get lost in, and to create lovable and memorable characters.
